WYNNSTAY, the seat of Sir W. W. Wynn, Bart., in the SE of Denbigh; 4 miles N of Chirk. It was rebuilt in 1861; and it occupies the site of the ancient residence of Madocap Grufwydd Maelor, the founder of Valle Crucis abbey.
