Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Dunhead

Dunhead, an ancient triangular camp or fort in Car yllie parish, Forfarshire, on a peninsular eminence at the junction of the Black Den and the Den of Guynd ravines. Probably formed by the Caledonians, and re odelled by the Danes, it was defended on two sides by precipices, and on the third by a rough rampart and a ditch; and it is now represented by mere vestiges.
