Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Findrassie

Findrassie, an estate, with a mansion, in Spynie parish, Elginshire, 2½ miles NW of Elgin. It belonged, from the first half of the 16th century, to a branch of the Leslies, descended from Robert, youngest son of the third Earl of Rothes; but, sold in 1825 by Sir Charles Leslie, fifth Bart. since 1625, it now is the seat of Mrs Forster, only daughter and heiress of the late James Ogilvie Tod, Esq. (d. 1837), who holds 690 acres in the shire, valued at £602 per annum.
