Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Garnqueen

Garnqueen, a village, with brickworks, on the mutual border of New Monkland and Cadder parishes, Lanarkshire, near Glenboig station. Garnqueen Loch here receives a burn from New Monkland parish, and sends off one, by way of Croftfoot Mill, into confluence with the burns from Bishop and Johnston Lochs. Pop. of village (1871) 307, (1881) 934.
