Hallguards, a romantic spot at the W border of Hoddom parish, Dumfriesshire, on the left bank of the river Annan, 2 miles WSW of Ecelefechan. Here stood the original Hoddom Castle, which is said to have been a seat of the royal Bruces, and was demolished some centuries ago in terms of a Border treaty.
