Muirburn, a mansion in Glassford parish, Lanarkshire, on the left side of Avon Water, 2½ miles NE of Strathaven. Its owner, John Patrick Alston, Esq. (b. 1816), holds 666 acres in the shire, valued at £1337 per annum.—Ord. Sur., sh. 24, 1865.
