Waterside, a village in Dalmellington parish, Ayrshire, on the right bank of the Doon, 3½ miles NW of Dalmellington town. It has a railway station, a public school, and ironworks (1847). Pop. (1871) 1681, (1881) 1473.—Ord. Sur., sh. 14, 1863.
