Westquarter, a village in Glassford parish, Lanarkshire, 2 miles NE of Strathaven. Westquarter House is the seat of Jn. Miller Wilson Jackson, Esq. of Hallhill (b. 1861; suc. 1865), who holds 563 acres in the shire, valued at £434 per annum.—Ord. Sur., sh. 23, 1865.
