Foyle, river, cos. Donegal, Tyrone, and Londonderry; is formed by the confluence of the Finn and the Mourne at Lifford, and flows NE. to the head of Lough Foyle at Culmore; is 16 miles long, and is navigable for vessels of 600 tons to the bridge of Londonderry.
