New Galloway, royal burgh and small town with ry. sta., Kells par., Kirkcudbrightshire, on Water of Ken, 5 miles NW. of its sta. and 19 miles N. of Kirkcudbright, pop. 398; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; has half-yearly fairs. New Galloway formed one of the Wigtown District of Parliamentary Burghs, which returned 1 member until 1885.
