Wortley.-- township (ry. stations Armley and Wortley, and Wortley and Farnley), Leeds par., E. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, on SW. side and wholly within bor. of Leeds, 1054 ac., pop. 23,530. Manufactures of woollen fabrics, and of firebricks and sanitary tubes, are carried on. The township contains New Wortley, eccl. dist., pop. 12,163; P.O., T.O.; and Wortley de Leeds, eccl. dist., pop. 5884.
