Ardmeanach, or Black Isle, peninsular district, E. Ross-shire, between Cromarty and Moray Firths. It comprises 8 pars., and is divided among the cos. of Nairn, Cromarty, and Ross. A. or Mullbuie, an extensive ridgy hill in above peninsula, 16 miles long, and attaining alt. of 646 ft.
