Arrochar, par. and vil. with pier, NW. Dumbartonshire, at head of Loch Long, 17¼ miles N. of Helensburgh, 25,858 ac. (exclusive of 2915¾ water), pop. 517; P.O., T.O. This place is highly esteemed for its secluded and attractive situation, and was formerly the abode of the Clan Macfarlane.
