Marston, Long, par., township, and vil. (ry. sta. Marston), E. div. West-Riding Yorkshire - par., 4595 ac., pop. 530; township, 2846 ac., pop. 363; vil., 2 miles S. of sta. and 6 W. of York; P.O., called Marston; 1½ mile NW. of vil. is the battlefield of Marston Moor, where, in 1644, Fairfax and Cromwell defeated the Royalists under Prince Rupert.
