Dufftown, police burgh with ry. sta., Mortlach par., Banffshire, near the Fiddich, 4 m. SE. of Craigellachie Junction, and 64 NW. of Aberdeen, pop. 1252; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks; was founded in 1817 by James Duff, fourth Earl of Fife; has limeworks and a distillery (Mortlach).
