Bann, Upper, river, SW. co. Down, flowing from the Mourne mountains 25 m. NW. past Banbridge to Lough Neagh at Banfoot Ferry, N. co. Armagh. It is joined by the Newry Canal at Portadown. The salmon fisheries on the Lower and Upper Bann are very productive.
