Search for a place
Beachy Head, prom., on S. coast of Sussex, between Hastings and Brighton, alt. 564 ft.; here the French defeated the English and Dutch fleet in 1690. On Belle Toute, the second cliff W. of the head, is a lighthouse (285 ft. high) with a revolving light seen 23 miles.
