Perthshire, 35¼ miles NW. of Perth by rail, at confluence of Tilt and Garry -- par., 181,113 ac., pop. 1742; vil., pop. 346; P.O., T.O.; 1 Bank; is noted for the splendid mountain scenery amid which it is situated. Blair Castle, seat of the Duke of Athole, is adjacent; the grounds contain the oldest and largest larch trees in Scotland.
