Lancashire, on Rochdale Canal, 3½ miles E. of Manchester -- township, 1621 ac., pop. 11,254; town, pop. 8687; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Droylsden is practically an outlying E. suburb of Manchester. It has cotton manufactories, copperas works, dye-works, print-works, chemical works, &c.
