Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Gipping

Gipping.-- river, W. Suffolk; rises in several headstreams to N., NE., and W. of Stowmarket, and flows 11½ miles SE. past Stowmarket and Needham Market to Ipswich, where it takes the name of Orwell.
