Inishmore.-- island (forming par.), the largest island of the Aran group, SW. co. Galway, 30 miles SW. of Galway, 7635 ac., pop. 2193; P.O., called Arran Island. The island measures about 9 miles by 2 miles; its greatest elevation is less than 400 ft. The inhabitants are employed chiefly in fishing.
