Invergowrie, vil. with ry. sta., on border of Longforgan par., Perthshire, and of Liff, Benvie, and Invergowrie par., Forfarshire, on Firth of Tay, 3 miles W. of Dundee; was anciently a place of royal embarkation; its ruined church is said to have succeeded a church of the early part of the 8th century, founded by St Boniface; 1½ mile NE. of sta. is Invergowrie House.
