Ludgvan (or Ludjan), small town and par., Cornwall, 3 miles NE. of Penzance, 4541 ac., pop. 2632; P.O., T.O.; has tin and copper mines, and a fair for cattle; the church contains the tomb of William Borlase (1696-1772), antiquary, naturalist, and author; Castle-an-Dinas, a double-ditched camp 436 ft. diameter, occupies a hill-top in the vicinity. Ludgvan is a local government district.
