Plumpton, par. and vil. with ry. sta., - par., 2450 ac., pop. 466; vil., 1¾ mile from its sta., which is 6 miles NW. of Lewes; P.O., and P.O. (at sta.), called Plumpton Station; near the vil. is Plumpton Place, an old moated mansion of the Mascall family.
