Polesworth, par. and vil. with ry. sta., Warwickshire - par. (containing Warton and part of Wilnecote), 6310 ac., pop. 3472; vil., on river Anker, 4 miles SE. of Tarn worth; P.O., T.O.; is a large place, and ranked formerly as a market town. There are collieries, quarries, and clay works; also some remains of a nunnery, founded shortly after the Norman Conquest.
