Seirkieran, par., W. King's co., on river Little Brosna, 4 miles SE. of Parsonstown, 5825 ac., pop. 647; the ancient see of Seirkieran was founded by St Keiran, and joined (11th century) to Aghaboe, and afterwards (12th century) to Kilkenny.
