Tarset, West, township and ry. sta. (Tarset), Thorneyburn par., Northumberland, on Tarset Burn and river North Tyne, 3½ miles NW. of Bellingham, 18,109 ac., pop. 89; Tarset Castle was burned by raiders about 1516.
