Tattershall, market town and par. with ry. sta., Lincolnshire, on river Bain, adjacent to Conngsby and 11 miles NW. of Boston, 4580 ac., pop. 782; P.O., and P.O. at Tattersnail Bridge. Market-day, Thursday. The par. contains the townships of Tattershall and Tattershall Thorpe - Tattershall, pop. 481; Tattershall Thorpe, pop. 301; in Tattershall Park are 2 Roman camps; Tattershall Castle, rebuilt in the 15th century by the Cromwells, suffered in the Civil War, and has left some interesting remains.
