Search for a place
Tyne, river, Northumberland and Durham; is formed by the confluence of the North Tyne and South Tyne, 1 mile NW. of Hexham, and flows 30 miles E. to the sea at Tynemouth and South Shields; from Wylam downwards it divides the two counties, and from Newcastle to the sea it forms one continuous harbour.
