Melchbourne par. and vil., Bedfordshire, 5½ miles SE. of Higham Ferrers, 2574 ac., pop. 219; Melchbourne Hall, seat of Lord St John of Bletsoe, stands in a fine park; there are some remains of a preceptory of Knights Hospitallers of time of Henry I.
