Edgeworthstown, town with ry. sta., Mostrim par., E. co. Longford, 67½ miles NW. of Dublin, pop. 842; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Tuesday; the birthplace of Maria Edgeworth, the novelist (1767-1849). Near it is Edgeworthstown House, a seat of the Edgeworth family.
