Grampound, small market town and township (ry. sta. Grampound Road), Creed and Probus pars., W. Cornwall, on river Fal, 7 miles SW. of St Austell, 199 ac., pop. 482; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Saturday; was a parl. bor. until 1821; John Hampden (1594-1643), the parliamentarian, was its representative in 1620. The sta. is 2 miles NW. of the town, with P.O., T.O., called Grampound Road.
