Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Shellness

Shellness, hamlet and small headland, Kent, at E. extremity of Isle of Sheppy, opposite Whits table; a coastguard station and beacon are here. At this place James N. was seized (Dee. 12, 1088) on his attempt to escape from England after the Revolution.
