Meifod (or Myfod), par. and vil., Montgomeryshire, on river Vyrnwy, 5½ miles NE. of Llanfair, 12,614 ac., pop. 1583; P.O.; was formerly the archdeaconry of Powisland, and the burial-place of its princes; in vicinity of vil. are several mineral springs.
