Esk, North.-- river, Forfarshire; is formed by the confluence of the Lee and the Mark at Invermark, Lochlee par., and flows SE. (partly along the Kincardine border) to the sea 4 miles NE. of Montrose; gives the title of earl to a branch of the Carnegies; is 29 miles long, and has salmon and trout.
