Ribstone, Great, with Walshford, township Hunsingore par., E. div. West-Riding Yorkshire, on river Nidd, 3½ miles SE. of Knaresborough, 1933 ac., pop. 193; a preceptory of Knights Templars stood here; in the gardens of Ribstone Hall the " Ribstone pippin " was first grown in England.
