Talgarth.-- market town, par., and township with ry. sta., Brecknockshire, 7 miles SW. of Hay - par., 16,900 ac., pop. 1446; township, 12,000 ac., pop. 1352; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Friday. Talgarth had at one time a castle, and was a bor. by prescription; there are some ancient British relics, including a cromlech.
