Search for a place
Carradale, bay, headland, stream, and vil., with steamboat pier, on E. side of Kintyre, Argyllshire, 13 miles NE. of Campbeltown; P.O., T.O. Carradale Point, or Aird of Carradale (133 ft. high), at NE. side of C. Bay, has remains of old fort. On a small peninsula at W. side of bay are ruins of an oval vitrified fort, 450 ft. in circumference. C. Water, flowing 7 miles SE. to bay, is an excellent angling stream, frequented by salmon. At head of bay is Carradale House.
