Tong.-- par. and vil., Kent, 1½ mile E. of Sittingbourne and 5 miles NW. of Faversham, 1632 ac. and 364 tidal water and foreshore, pop. 314; Tong Castle, a Saxon stronghold, traditionally connected with the names of Hengist, and of Vortigern and Rowena, is now represented by a high moated mound.
