Carriden, coast par., Linlithgowshire, 2705 ac., pop. 1989. At Bridgeness, 1 mile E. of Borrowstounness, was the eastern termination of Antoninus' Wall. C. House is ½ mile further E. Colonel James Gardiner (1688-1745), who fell at Prestonpans, was a native.
