Dunvegan, vil. with inn, on loch of same name, Duirinish par., Skye island, Inverness-shire; P.O., T.O.; in vicinity is Dunvegan Castle, seat of the Maclewods. Dunvegan Loch, 7½ miles long and 2¼ miles wide, affords safe anchorage for vessels of the heaviest burden. On SW. side is Dunvegan Head.
