MANAFON, a parish in Newtown district, Montgomery; on the river Rhiew, 2½ miles S by E of Llanfair, and 8½ SW of Welshpool r. station. It contains the township of Manafon-Llan, Manafon-Gaynog, Manafon-Llys, and Dwyriew; and the last of these includes the hamlet of Dolgwynfelyn. Post town, LlanfairCaereinion, under Welshpool. Acres, 6,635. Real property, £4,091. Pop., 701. Houses, 141. The property is much subdivided. The surface is variously undulating, hilly, and moorish.
