Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Avontoun

Avontoun, a mansion in Linlithgow parish, near the river Avon, 1½ mile WSW of Linlithgow. Built by Lord President Blair (1741-1811), it is now the seat of his grandson, Hy. Temple Blair, Esq. (suc. 1873).
