Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Auchtertyre

Auchtertyre, a hamlet in Newtyle parish, Forfarshire, ¾ mile W of Newtyle village. Near it are traces of a small square camp, supposed to have been formed by Montrose's army during the civil wars.
