Herringfleet Hall, the seat of Mr. L., stands in a wooded park, and commands extensive views. A priory of black canons was founded here, in the time of Henry III., by Roger Fitzosbert; and given, at the dissolution, to Henry Jernyngham. The living is a donative in the diocese of Norwich.
