Bargany, an estate and a mansion in Dailly parish, Ayrshire, on the left bank of Girvan Water, 4¼ miles NE of Girvan. The property of the Earl of Stair, through his Countess, a daughter of the Duc de Coigny, and a grand-daughter of Sir Hew Dalrymple Hamilton, Bart., Bargany will pass to the earl's second son. Its rental is about £12,000, and £30,000 was expended on permanent improvements during 1862-78.
