Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Belston

Belston, an estate in Carluke parish, Lanarkshire. It originally formed part of the barony of Mauldslie; and it passed to successively the Livingstones, the Lindsays, the Maxwells, and Lord Donglas. It contains coal and ironstone.
