Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for BENDON

BENDON, a quondam mansion, now a farmhouse, ¾ of a mile W of Axmouth, Devon. It shows well the architectural features of the 16th century; and was long a seat of the Erle family, including Lord Chief Justice Erle and Sir Walter Erle.
