STOUR (The), a river of Oxford, Gloucester, and Warwick; rising near Tadmarton in Oxford; running westward to Burmington, at the boundary between Gloucester and Warwick; and proceeding, chiefly along that boundary, north-by-westward, to the Avon, 1¾ mile SSW of Stratford. Its length of course is about 20 miles.
