SKELWITH, a township, conjoint with Monk-Coniston, in Hawkshead parish, Lancashire; on the river Brathay, 3½ miles N by W of Hawkshead. S. Force, on the Brathay, a little above S.-bridge, is a cascade of 20 feet in fall; and vantage-grounds, in the vicinity, command superb views up Langdale.
